Ben Jerrod
Soap-Opera-Pedia

Ben Jerrod followed the title character, who gives up a career in Chicago practicing corporate law and returns to his fictional hometown of Indian Hill as a defense attorney. His first case is anything but low-profile, as Jerrod ends up representing a beautiful socialite accused of murdering her husband.
NBC hoped that the serial, created by Roy Winsor, would match the success of his other daytime endeavors, Search for Tomorrow, Love of Life, and Secret Storm.
Ben Jerrod premiered alongside fellow NBC soap The Doctors and ABC’s General Hospital on April 1, 1963. Unfortunately, Ben Jerrod did not have the success of the two long-running medical dramas, as it ended after just three months on the air, landing it a place among the shortest-lived daytime soaps.
Despite its brief run, Ben Jerrod does hold a place in television history by being the first daytime soap broadcast in color.
